History:
"WHY TELL LIES - ISN'T THE TRUTH BAD ENOUGH?"
Hells Angels Ventura was started on May 6th, 1978. The Charter was built by Hells Angels from Northern as well as Southern California. Our Clubhouse has been in the same location for close to thirty years. Surviving shootouts, bombings, Federal and State search warrants, property seizure, electronic surveillance, paid informants, visual surveillance by law enforcement, wives and girlfriends spying on parties that lasted for days. Allegations of murder, explosives, weapons, assault, mayhem, arson, racketeering, drugs, gambling, theft, conspiracy and traffic tickets we lost count of in the early eighties. This has made us who we are - Hells Angels Ventura. Through all of this we have only lost one member to violence. On June 9, 2002, Josh Harbor was shot once in the face while standing in front of a bar in Arizona. He died a few hours later. He was only 23 and had been in the club a short time. I watched him grow up along with several other future members. At age 10, he was the first to declare he would become a part of our club. In his heart he had been with us for years. Josh did what most only dream, "achieved his goal in life." This site is dedicated to him......

In the early eighties law enforcement stepped up its interest in the Hells Angels, from local interest all the way up to Attorney General Ed Mess. In the late seventies millions of dollars were invested in the first R.I.C.O. case against any 1% motorcycle club in legal history. This took place in the Bay Area in Northern California, with no convictions, but as a testing ground for things to come. It gave not only us but our attorneys insight into what would become a battle for freedom and maybe a little insight into how our founding fathers made a stand for what they believed in. You will find within the pages of the Ventura site not only observations but personal experiences. In no way are there any regrets, remorse or apologies, it is what it is.
