W.Va. man pleads guilty in Pagans case by The Associated Press

CHARLESTON, W.Va. (AP) -- A member of the Pagans Motorcycle Club has pleaded guilty to racketeering.

In exchange for the plea, federal prosecutors agreed to dismiss 11 other counts against 49-year-old David A. Cremeans of Huntington, including retaliation against a witness.

Cremeans entered his plea Monday in U.S. District Court in Charleston. He admitted setting up a plot to kill a Pagans member who was serving a sentence at a federal prison in Kentucky. Club members believed the man was an informant.

Cremeans is scheduled to be sentenced June 29. He faces up to 20 years in prison.

He is among 38 Pagans members and associates named in a 29-count indictment charging a host of crimes ranging from illegal gambling to murder conspiracy.
